He brings extensive experience from both the healthcare sector and high-growth companies. Before joining Kipu, Russell served as the Chief Product & Technology Officer at Bamboo Health. There, he led the development of product lines focused on Controlled Substance, Behavioral Health, and Real-time Event Notification. With a career spanning over 20 years in healthcare technology, Russell has worked with notable companies including WebPT, IBM Watson Health, Phytel, and MDdatacor.
At IBM Watson Health, Russell spearheaded multiple research teams in applying AI to care management workflows, launched the first AI-enabled Watson Health product, and holds eight patents. His contributions have led to the creation of patient engagement tools, provider workflow solutions, and clinical outcomes systems that have positively impacted millions of lives. Russell earned his degree in electronics and information technology from Brigham Young University. He is passionate about innovation, behavior change, habit design, and integrated care models.
